Kindergartens and schools have already been closed until the 19th of April and state borders are facing the first restrictions.
The Lower Saxony State Stud is also reacting to the current development to slow down the infection chain, enable childcare for our staff with families and lastly to secure the long-term care for the stallions.
Due to the aforementioned reasons the State Stud Celle and stallion testing center are therefore closed to the public until further notice. The customer services provided on the properties of the breeding stables will cease, effective immediately. The staff located at insemination stations will for now be relocated until the 19th of April and work from the central locations Celle, Adelheidsdorf and Verden. Shift work will commence at these stations so that the staff will have as little contact as possible to minimise the risk of infection. With these measures we hope to ensure the long-term care for the stallions. At the stations Roydorf, Landesbrück, Aurich and Ankum only one staff member per station will hand out fresh semen.
The Lower Saxony State Stud hopes that all breeders and customers understand that the otherwise encouraged personal contact will be avoided intentionally.
